Divisorias de Vidro is a fictional book written by Marcello Lippi. It was published in 2021 and features a young girl who grows up during the war in Spain. This book is a coming of age story that is told through the viewpoints of two different characters. The first one is a girl called Didyma, who stays at home with her grandmother, while her younger brother Mario comes from another town to live with Didyma.
Didyma lives a sheltered life in a large home, away from the street life of the town. She loves animals, especially horses, and enjoys sewing and baking. One day, while she is making bread, Didyma sees a dead body floating in the river. When her grandmother notices the body, it is too late to help the poor dead creature. Just then, Didyma's brother arrives home from a trip and sees the body floating in the river.
Two years later, Didyma's friend Juana arrives from Brazil and takes up residence with Didyma. The two girls quickly become best friends and they enjoy spending time together. Unfortunately, this happiness is disturbed when Juana's husband suddenly dies in the ship they are on and leaves her and Didyma to live on their own. This book is about the life that Didyma lives during this time and how it is destroyed by the actions of her friend and brother.
This second book in the Divisorias De Vidro series has a much faster pace than the first book. It also has a much more interesting plot involving Juana and Didyma. In the first book, Didyma accidentally kills Juana's cat while helping him fix his boat. She is taken to jail for manslaughter and sent to live in a hotel until a judge decides she can live on her own. While she is there, Didyma meets Brazilian artist Augusto da Silva Carvalho. While at first he appears to be a simple fellow who only wants to help his friend, Didyma soon discovers that he has a secret plan that involves setting Didyma up in Brazil so that she can find love.
The main characters in this entertaining book include Augusto, a great artist, Juana, a poor Spanish fisherman, and Didyma, a woman who wants a better life. I especially like the way that Didyma is completely dedicated to saving other people and how she gains respect from everyone she meets. Augusto and Juana are joined by a few other interesting personalities that add some color to the story. While the plot of the book is intriguing, the actual story of how they all come together and learn to live together while balancing their lives isn't very exciting. However, that is what makes the book very fun to read.
Divisorias de vidro em jundiai isn't your typical romantic story. It is a bit different and unique. It is more of an action tale about living together and what you need to learn about life before getting married. Although it does include a love story, it doesn't have the same story that many couples use as the focal point of their marriage ceremony. It is a good read for people who enjoy romance and who like to learn a little bit about how people make up during their time spent together. I liked the book and will likely continue to read it because of the stories Willy tells about his life and his plans for his future.
